The UIDAI has prescribed three methods to change or update Aadhaar card information.
(i) Online method
(iii) By visiting permanent enrollment centre.
The online method to update Aadhaar details is simple and it is a self-service method, where users can update all the information online. The steps are mentioned below.
(i) Visit resident.uidai.gov.in
(ii) Under “Update Aadhaar Details” column, click on “Update Aadhaar Detail Online”
(iii) Enter Aadhaar number in the given box and the captcha code
(iv) Enter one-time password (OTP) sent to the registered mobile number
(v) Select the field to update in “Data Request Page”
(vi) Enter data as desired
(vii) Select a BPO service provider for reviewing the updated information and hit submit
(viii) Upload official copy of documents that validates the changes made. Example: If the date of birth mentioned on the Aadhaar Card is wrong, a user should send a copy of any ID proof that stands to the updated date of birth
(ix) Download copy of updated verification for future reference
The Aadhaar Card information can be corrected or updated through post.
(i) Click here to download the “Aadhaar Data Update/Correction Form” from https://uidai.gov.in/images/UpdateRequestFormV2.pdf.
(ii) Fill in all the details that needs to be updated
(iii) Send the form and supporting documents to UIDAI, Post Box No. 99, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – 500034 India
(iv) Wait for the update request sent by UIDAI via SMS

At Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Centers, you can get both demographics (Name, Address, DoB, Gender, Mobile & Email) & biometrics (Finger Prints, Iris & Photograph).
You have to carry original documents for updation at the enrolment centre. Original documents will be scanned and handed back to you after updation. You can visit any of the permanent enrolment center for updation.
Updating Aadhaar online and by post can be done free of cost. However, if you are visiting an enrolment centre for the correction / update you need to pay a fee of Rs 25 each time you get your details updated.
The time for carrying out the updation does not exceed 90 days. The update request is verified by UIDAI representative. Once the request is approved, the e-Aadhaar can be downloaded by clicking “Download Aadhaar” on uidai.gov.in.
Aadhaar letter with updates will be delivered at the given address only in case of updation in Name, Address, Date of Birth and Gender. For Update of Mobile number/Email ID, only a notification will be sent on the given mobile number/email ID.
